Our tropical nut oil is the result of a selective manufacturing process that uses a specific blend of oils from macadamia nuts, Brazil nuts, almonds, peanuts, and coconuts. The unique composition of the various oils is designed to ensure an optimal supply of various essential fatty acids to your parrots.
The fatty acids contained in the composition have different biochemical characteristics and act in different areas of your parrots' organism. Particular attention is paid to omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for maintaining the integrity of the nervous system and the structure of cell membranes. They potentially show anti-inflammatory properties and play a major role in preventing cardiovascular disease. The coconut oil contained in the mix oil provides a significant amount of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs), including lauric acid. These MCFAs represent a beneficial alternative to long-chain saturated fatty acids due to their relatively easy digestion by the bird's organism. In addition, lauric acid is said to have an antimicrobial effect, which further underlines the health benefits of coconut oil.
